Andriukaitis showers President Grybauskaitė with criticism for causing psychosis and usurping European Council meetings

“It is a very bad thing that someone is causing the psychosis about us being a country at the front and about someone seeking to occupy us and someone, (…), some ‘terrorist state’ or something like that is planting more fear. No, Lithuania is an independent state,” Andriukaitis said in his speech.

After being announced the party’s honorary chairman, Andriukaitis defended Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius and criticized the decisions for the European Council to be attended by the president rather than the PM, although the Council makes decisions on the government level.

“The right has been usurped for six years already,” said Andriukaitis.

He also said the president’s idea of building a monument for Lithuania’s interwar president Antanas Smetona was “unbelievable”.
