According to the survey, 24 percent of respondents said they constantly watched news and broadcasts on global events on the First Baltic Channel in late 2016, while 14 percent said they watched them on RTR.
“This is about a third less than during the survey conducted at the end of 2015,” the ministry said in a press release.
In 2015, 32 percent of those polled specified the First Baltic Channel as their main source of news, while 26 percent said they watched RTR.
Lithuania’s radio and television watchdog last November suspended the broadcasts of RTR Planeta in Lithuania for three months. In 2016, the watchdog made cable companies to include NTV Mir Lithuania into the package of paid channels.
Vilmorus pollster conducted the survey of 1,002 adult residents of Lithuania on December 2-10 of 2016.
