Baltic NATO jets scrambled three times in week to intercept Russian aircraft

The aircraft serving in the NATO air-policing mission in the Baltic states made the intercepts in international airspace over the Baltic Sea, according to the Lithuanian National Defense Ministry.

The Russian aircraft included Su-27 fighter jets and transport planes and were intercepted by NATO jets last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in international airspace between the Baltic Sea exclave of Kaliningrad and mainland Russia.

The NATO air policing mission in the Baltic states based in Lithuania and Estonia.
