
Lithuanian Bushido champion and winner of international tournaments Kęstutis Smirnovas has joined the Lithuanian Peasant and Greens Union (LVŽS) and will stand in Vilkaviškis single member constituency, where he will challenge the current Prime Minister, social democrat Algirdas Butkevičius for a parliament seat.
“I am impressed by the outstanding LVŽS attention and concern for healthy living, which is inseparable from health and fitness,” said Smirnovas.
Speaking about the areas he would like to work on as a politician, Smirnovas said he would focus not just on sports, but also on education.
The candidate has a degree in education, is a teacher-expert, has been working with young people in Šakiai youth art and sports centre since 1999.
