Under the Seimas statute, interpellation may be initiated by at least of a fifth of the country’s 141-seat parliament, i.e., 29 parliamentarians.
The party said in a press release that Baltraitienė would be asked about the corruption scandals surrounding the institutions subordinate to the Agriculture Ministry, lack of the minister’s political accountability and faulty decisions in the appointment of persons of vague reputation to head branches of the ministry.
Interpellation against Defense Minister Juozas Olekas is also planned for this week.
