In terms of coronavirus infections, Lithuania is already in second place among the 30 countries of the European Union and the European Economic Area, according to the latest data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

Our country is only behind of Cyprus, which also led the death rate last week.

The incidence rate in the last two weeks has increased from 576.4 to 599.52 per 100 thousand. residents. In turn, the mortality rate – from 66.57 to 67.28 per million inhabitants.

Among the Baltic states, the best situation is in Estonia, which had very unfortunate statistics until recently. This country ranks 9th in Europe in terms of incidence and 13th in terms of the death rate.

Poland was in 20th place in terms of infection rates and 4th in terms of mortality.

In connection with the introduction of the passport of opportunities, the Ministry of Economy and Innovation explains how to proceed to obtain this document for people vaccinated against COVID-19, with antibodies or those who tested negative.

In May, Lithuania will receive over 700,000 coronavirus vaccine doses. In June – a million.

According to the chancellor of the Ministry of Health, Jurgita Grebenkovienė, the number of vaccines in May also includes the preparations already delivered.

In June, Lithuanian residents are vaccinated with preparations from four manufacturers – “Pfizer”, “Moderna”, “AstraZeneca” and “Jonson & Jonson”.

So far, more than 1,370,000 doses have been delivered to the country. All of them were distributed among vaccination centres.

So far, most of the vaccines delivered to Lithuania were produced by Pfizer.
