Danske Bank has sealed an agreement to lease a 12,000 square metre business centre in Vilnius which is still under construction. It is the largest lease transaction in the Lithuanian market this year.
Danske Bank plans to establish its Global Services Lithuania (GSL) center at the facility.
“There was a need to move to a new building because of the rapid growth of the organization: GSL is the largest Danske Bank Group unit in Lithuania. We expect that more than 900 employees will be located at the new business center by the end of 2017,” said Danske Bank’s real estate development manager Giedrius Lazickas.
The head of the company which is developing the business center, MMM Projects, Natalia Monkevičienė said that the new Danske Bank building will have an international BREEAM certificate.
Only buildings that make the least impact on the environment during their life cycle can get this certificate.
Photocells on the roof will provide at least a tenth of the energy that the building will need. A section of the building and the surrounding area will be designed to promote employee health.
There will also be an open public space around the building with a café, as well as green spaces for parents, free Wi Fi, and a fountain which can be turned into an ice skating rink in winter.
