Estonia bans pork imports from Lithuania

Estonian officials have noted that these restrictions are temporary and will be lifted once there is evidence that the virus has been contained and has not spread to other pig farms in Lithuania.

The outbreak was reported on Thursday in a major pig farming complex in Ignalina District. Some 20,000 livestock kept in the farms have been destroyed. A state of emergency was declared in the district on Friday.
