The court in Kupiškis, in northeastern Lithuania, ordered Zaikauskas to serve out his sentence during his days off, Irma Gritėnienė, the court’s spokeswoman, told BNS.
The court also awarded Erika Račkytė, an actress who was sexually harassed by Zaikauskas, 3,000 euros in non-pecuniary damage and 100 euros in pecuniary damage.
“The former head of the theater denies any wrongdoing, saying that he was blackened and slandered by the victim, but the court, having heard the case, rejected this version and found him guilty,” the spokeswoman told BNS.
The judgement is not final and is subject to appeal to a higher court.
Račkytė says that Zaikauskas repeatedly told her that she would have “to sleep” with him after the premiere of a play directed by the head of the theater and that he would make the actress a star if she had sex with him or make her leave the job if she did not.
