According to the deputy minister, the Muslim family came to Europe from Iraq. The family consists of four persons: a husband who has a management degree, a wife, and two minor children (a small baby and a 5-year-old pre-schooler). Both spouses are younger than 40 years old and speak English.
The refugee family will come to Lithuania by plane and will live in Rukla Centre during their initial integration process.
Lithuania has committed to resettling 1,105 Syrian, Iraqi and Eritrean asylum seekers as part of the EU effort to deal with the refugee crisis.
