Invitation to contribute to a memorial to Jonas Jablonskis

For years it has been broken into pieces, but now is being recreated and awaiting realisation in enduring granite. The sculptor is donating his work. The stone has been obtained from Ukraine – a gift from the Taras Shevchenko Fund, set up with donations from businesspeople. The most important among the Fund’s organisers and donors was Lithuania’s Honorary Consul in Luhansk, late Mikola Zelenec who was murdered by a gang of terrorists this year. The granite has been transferred to the memorial’s initiative group-association by the Vytautas Landsbergis Fund, which received the stone.

Much professional work and funds are needed to sculpt the memorial. For this reason we have opened an account in the Kaunas branch of Šiaulių Bankas LT 97 7180 9003 6272 4174, recipient Rolandas Ramanavičius, purpose of payment: Jonas Jablonskis memorial [AB Šiaulių banko Kauno filialas LT 97 7180 9003 6272 4174, gavėjas Rolandas Ramanavičius, mokėjimo paskirtis: Jono Jablonskio paminklui], into which we ask our dear donors to deposit any amount they wish to contribute. (It will be necessary to collect at least 200,000 litas, 58,000 euros or about 50,000 pounds sterling).
