This exhibition is one of a series of events of the traditional Sea Festival held annually in Lithuania’ seaport Klaipėda.
In 2014, the Sea Festival is marking its 80th anniversary. The festival is held for the 55th time. The celebrating city on the Baltic coast will greet its guests 23-27 of July with the motto – THE BEST OF ALL TIMES.
On Thursday, the seafarers honouring ceremony will be held in Smiltynė, by the monument Albatross and in the Lithuanian Sea Museum. After the ceremony, a tent with the remains of a sailboat will be open on the Ancient Fishing Boats Square.
On Friday, the Sea Festival fair will begin. Later, historical documentary exhibition entitled To the Sea, All the Lithuania! will be open. In the evening procession Sea Feast is Coming to Town will take place in the streets of Klaipeda and Sea Feast-2014 banner will be raised in the Cruise Ships Terminal.
On Saturday, for the third time spectators will be able to attend the traditional historical ships’ day entitled Dange Flotilla, where 16 traditional historical fishing boats from Lithuania, Russia and Poland will form a procession. Guests will be invited to visit an open-air exhibition of traditional historical ships and take part in a wind-vane-making workshop.
