“This is a version of the WannaCry virus. In Lithuania, we have received several reports and are investigating them,” Rytis Rainys of the Communications Regulatory Authority told BNS on Tuesday evening.

He declined to name the companies possibly hit by the attack.

According to foreign media reports, the virus, which locks computers and demands a ransom payment, has affected Ukraine’s government bodies, Russia’s oil company Rosneft and Denmark’s shipping company Maersk.
