Observers say Lithuania’s representatives will be lucky to perform in the same group with those of the UK, Ireland and Norway, countries with sizeable Lithuanian expatriate populations. Neighbouring Latvia also has a spot in the same semi-final.
Nineteen performers will compete for ten tickets to the Eurovision final on May 12, one more than in the first semi-final on May 10.
Lithuania has yet to pick its national entry to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden.
The duo of Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Baumila represented Lithuania last year and came in 18th in the final.
