The note was handed to Charge D’Affaires Liudmila Tatarinovich, as the ambassador is currently not in Vilnius.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania urged Belarus to provide explanations over the incident and take all the necessary measures to prevent such incidents from occurring again in the future, the ministry said in a press release.

Lithuanian authorities say the country’s airspace was violated by civilian aircraft An-2 by entering from the Belarusian territory on Wednesday afternoon.
