The news has been confirmed by the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius. In his words, Lithuania is mulling travel bans for Russian citizens who are actively supporting the Kremlin’s Ukrainian policy. The list includes politicians, businesspeople and representatives of the force structures.
The foreign minister, however, refused to reveal the number of people involved.
The fact that Lithuania is preparing national sanctions against Russia in response to the ongoing events in Ukraine was confirmed by President Dalia Grybauskaitė last week. She said the possibility to impose national sanctions had been discussed with other EU member states during the recent General Affairs Council in Brussels.
