The possibility was discussed during a visit of the Forbidden City Museum’s director Shan Jixian in Lithuania, the Culture Ministry said.
The meeting between Shan Jixian and Lithuania’s Culture Minister Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson addressed cooperation possibilities in museum sciences, preservation of historic buildings and cultural values, as well as presentation to the public, possible exchange of cultural heritage and museum specialists, exchange of good practices and exhibitions.
The National Forbidden City Museum is based in the world’s largest complex of wooden buildings, featuring a collection of nearly 2 million pieces of cultural heritage and works of art, which accounts for 42 percent of China‘s museum exhibits. The museum has about 15 million visitors per year.
