According to the poll, the conservative Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats would be supported by 16.8 percent of respondents in March (unchanged from February), while the LFGU would be backed by 16.2 percent, up from 13.5 percent a month ago.
Vladas Gaidys, Vilmorus CEO, said the conservatives’ popularity had stabilized after around a year of increasing. In terms of the share of the voting population, it even declined to 24.9 percent in March from 27 percent in February and 29.2 percent in January. The LFGU went up on the popularity ladder over the past month and is now positioned just below the conservatives.
The Social Democrats are backed by 10.1 percent of respondents, while the Order and Justice party is supported by 9 percent (up from 7.6 percent and 7 percent in February, respectively).
According to the survey, the opposition Liberal Movement is supported by 5.1 percent of those polled, while the Centre Party by 3.7 percent and the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania – Union of Christian Families by 2.5 percent, as compared with respective February numbers of 5.3 percent, 2.6 percent and 3.4 percent.
