Lithuania likes fast food most of Baltic States

“The euro introduction helped a lot last year. I think it is a psychological aspect that encouraged customers to spend more,” said Vladimir Janevskis, the head of the McDonald’s restaurant chain in the Baltics.

“It is important that people would prefer to eat in the city, rather than stay at home. If they do, then there will be enough customers for all food chains,” said Hesburger Development Director Ieva Salmela.

Salmela said that in 2016 Hesrburger will invest €3.5 million in Lithuania in 2016, the most in the Baltic States, and will open three new restaurants.

The first McDonald’s restaurant in Lithuania opened in Vilnius in 1996 with the first and the most successful restaurant in the Baltic countries located near the railway station.

Over the last year, McDonald’s restaurants in Lithuania has served more than 7.7 m. visitors. Today, 11 McDonald’s restaurants and four McCafes operate in Lithuania.
