Some 25,000 euros will be transferred to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) each.

The United Nations estimates that the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine has directly affected over 4 million people, who need humanitarian aid, and has claimed more than 10,000 lives.

The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry has this year already granted 280,000 euros in humanitarian aid to people affected by conflicts and natural disasters in Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, South Sudan, Somalia, Nigeria, Mali, Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone and Dominica, as well as Palestinian refugees in the Middle East and Myanmar refugees.
