“The vehicles are used, but in good condition (…) and will definitely heighten the mobility and power of our armed forces. We are satisfied with the price and quality ratio,” he told reporters in Kaunas after inspecting the military equipment delivered from the Netherlands.
Bert van der Lingen, the Dutch ambassador to Lithuania, said, “Today we are provided with yet another honourable example of cooperation between two NATO allies – Lithuania and the Netherlands. (…) Just like Lithuania, the Netherlands is committed to safeguarding of the security of all NATO allies, of course, including our Baltic partners”.
Lithuania has been buying several hundreds of used military vehicles, including Mercedes-Benz GD SUVs and DAF trucks and trailers, from the Dutch Armed Forces on a bilateral basis between 2015 and 2017.
