Bite Lithuania, Omnitel and Tele2 Lithuania won the bidding for the 880–915 MHz and 925–960 MHz paired bands, as well as the 1,710–1,785 MHz and 1,805–1,880 MHz paired bands, reports TeleCommPaper. The companies will pay a total €38.1 million for the licences.
Omnitel said it offered the highest price of €14.3 million and secured the priority right to choose its preferred block of frequencies. The company opted for the frequencies 891.7–903.3 MHz paired with 936.7–948.3 MHz and 1735–1760 MHz with 1830–1855 MHz.
The company said this spectrum had the highest number of priority frequency channels harmonised with neighbouring countries and the fewest limitations in comparison with the other frequencies blocks.
