Lithuania should boost input to intl operations -Minister of Defence

“In my opinion, which is only my personal opinion so far, (…) is that we should boost our contribution further,” Karoblis told a conference of 15min.lt portal on Friday.

“We should show to our Allies that we are capable of giving, not just taking,” he said.

About 30 Lithuanian troops currently serve in international operations in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Mali and the Mediterranean Sea.

In early 2017, Lithuania will join another US-led mission targeted against the Islamic State group. Six Lithuanian military instructors will train local forces. The country’s parliament as sanctioned presence of up to 30 soldiers for the mission.
