They both are scheduled to assume their new positions on 31 March.
Janukonis will replace Petras Vaitiekūnas after he retired from diplomatic service. “We will continue our various assistance to Ukraine, including economic and humanitarian. We need to continue the existing policy. The existing policy has been very comprehensive and we need to continue that line that has earned us respect in Ukraine and the European Union,” Janukonis told journalists in the middle of February.
Raudonikis has so far served as a minister counsellor at the Lithuanian Embassy in Vienna. He previously worked at the Lithuanian Embassy in the Czech Republic and held various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as the Lithuanian Embassy in Sweden.
Raudonikis will replace Aurimas Taurantas.
