“There was one (drone from Kaliningrad) last night,” Renatas Požela, chief of the State Border Guard Service, told BNS on Thursday.
The drone had entered about 100 meters into the Lithuanian territory and turned back to Russia a few minutes later. The border guards spotted it visually.
“The main version is that this was smugglers surveying the territory for a save passage of cargo to the Lithuanian side. We have other versions, as well,” said Požela.
In his words, drones from the Russian territory do not often enter Lithuania. Drone flights from Belarus are recorded more often.
