Members of the delegation will attend a ceremony to mark the end of the mission for the Special Operations Squadron and are later scheduled to meet with Afghanistan’s acting defence minister and the leadership of the Resolute Support mission.
The Lithuanian delegation includes representatives of the Ministry of National Defence as well representatives of the Seimas of Lithuania.
There are now around 50 Lithuanian troops serving in the Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan. The Special Operations Squadron is deployed in the south of Afghanistan and Lithuanian troops are also contributing to the NATO mission’s operations in Kabul and Heart.
