The VSD “has nothing to do” with the money earmarked for the institution’s operations in next year’s budget, i.e., 400,000 litas, NSGK chairman Artūras Paulauskas said.
“Is it possible for this institution to do any serious work with such an amount? If not for partners’ funds, it [VSD] has nothing to do,” the MP pointed out.
“It needs extra money so as to be able to work on counter-intelligence seriously,” he added.
As proposed by the government, funding for the VSD will total 23.6 million euros next year, the same as this year.
