The clinic’s director general Kęstutis Strupas told reporters on Thursday that Požela’s condition was improving.
“He is in a severe but stable condition, there is a tendency of improvement,” Strupas said.
The minister remains in intensive care.
“He has been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis of biliary origin,” said Strupas.
Požela was admitted to hospital with a gastro-intestinal disorder and stomach pains.
Social Democrat Požela, 34, fell ill during his summer vacation.
