Lithuanian poet Tomas Venclova granted state pension

Venclova will receive the first-degree pension, which amounts to 800 litas (EUR 231.9), starting this October.

Born in 1937, Venclova is one of the most famous Lithuanian poets. He is also a prose writer, scholar, translator of literature and professor at Yale University, USA.

Venclova was awarded the National Culture and Art Prize in 2000.
