
“I hope these oaths will transform into meaningful and honourable judgements which will enrich the case-law,” said Grybauskaitė and emphasised the obligation to protect human rights and help people.
Grybauskaitė stressed that judges are one of the key people on whom the public trust in justice and the state depends on. Therefore, their work requires judges to be highly competent, moral, honest, respect people and the state.
Linas Dudys, Asta Jakutyte-Sungailiene, Jurgita Maksimenko-Seliene, Ingrida Mikuzyte, Eimutis Misiunas, Giedre Norviliene, Jurgita Petrauskiene and Jurgita Rimeikiene were appointed as judges of the District Court of Vilnius City. Ruta Kazlauskiene was appinted a judge of the District Court of Salcininkai Region.
The president wished the judges not to forget the values that brought them to office, to retain impeccable reputation and strengthen people’s trust in the state.
