Lithuania’s industrial production up 4.4 percent in June

Over the month, mining and quarrying and manufacturing production increased by 5 percent, seasonally and working day adjusted – by 0.9 percent; manufacturing production increased by 5.1 percent, seasonally and working day adjusted – by 1 percent.

Over the month, an increase was observed in the production of the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (74.7 percent), beverages (29.1 percent), wearing apparel (28.2 percent), textiles (11.6 percent), wood and wood products, except for furniture (10.6 percent), motor vehicles, trailers and semitrailers (10.6 percent).

In June 2015, against May, a decrease was observed in the production of extraction of crude oil (-44.3 percent), repair and installation of machinery and equipment (-4.7 percent), electricity, gas and steam supply (-3.7 percent).

In June 2015, against June 2014, industrial production increased by 11.2 percent at constant prices, working day adjusted – by 6.8 percent. Over the year, mining and quarrying and manufacturing production increased by 11.9 percent, working day adjusted – by 7.2 percent; manufacturing production increased by 12.2 percent, working day adjusted – by 7.5 percent.

In January-June 2015, industrial production totalled EUR 9.3 billion at current prices; compared to the same period of 2014, it grew by 4.5 percent at constant prices, working day adjusted – by 3.7 percent. Over the said period, mining and quarrying and manufacturing production increased by 5.1 percent, working day adjusted – by 4.3 percent; manufacturing production increased by 5.3 percent, working day adjusted – by 4.4 percent.

In January-June 2015, against January-June 2014, the proportion of mining and quarrying and manufacturing sales and services on the non-Lithuanian market increased by 0.8 percentage points and stood at 65 percent, on the Lithuanian market – decreased by 0.8 percentage points and stood at 35 percent. The value of sales and services to non-euro area countries accounted for more than half (53.5 percent) of the total value of mining and quarrying and manufacturing sales and services on the non-Lithuanian market.

In January-June 2015, against January-June 2014, the value of sales and services of industrial enterprises on the non-Lithuanian market decreased by 0.7 percent at current prices. It was mainly influenced by an 11.1 percent drop in the sales of the production of the manufacture of food products, 5.1 percent – refined petroleum products, 14.5 percent – rubber and plastic products. Over the said period, the sales of the production of the manufacture of furniture grew by 15.4 percent, wood and wood products, except for furniture, – by 12.9, computer, electronic and optical products – by 38.1, basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations – by 47.2 percent. The value of sales and services to euro area countries decreased by 4.1 percent, to non-euro area countries – by 2.5 percent at current prices. Refined petroleum products excluded, the value of sales and services of industrial enterprises on the non-Lithuanian market increased by 0.9 percent at current prices.

In January-June 2015, against January-June 2014, the value of sales and services of industrial enterprises on the Lithuanian market decreased by 4 percent, refined petroleum products excluded – grew by 0.2 percent at current prices.
