Lithuania’s Tripartite Council has said it approves of government plans to raise the minimum monthly wage from July 1.

“Last year the Tripartite Council has discussed the minimum monthly wage question for 2016 and it has been decided to do it in two stages. Since the beginning of this year to increase the minimum monthly wage to €350 and from July 1 – up to €380. Therefore, it would be unethical to take a step back and take a different decision,” said Social Security and Labour Minister Algimanta Pabedinskienė.

Lithuania’s tripartite council brings together government, trade unions and businesses.
