“I think even without Lukoil itself, we have plenty of Lukoil emissaries,” President Grybauskaitė said during her annual media conference on Thursday in reply to a question whether Lukoil’s withdrawal from Lithuania would reduce its influence in the country.

Lukoil, which runs a network of petrol stations in Lithuania, announced it was selling its assets due to anti-Russian sentiment.

President Grybauskaitė previously said that Russia was financing its war in Ukraine with Lukoil’s money.

“It is Lukoil’s money that funds the Kremlin’s military aggression in Europe,” Grybauskaitė said in 2014.
