Over half Lithuanians expect rise in housing prices

A poll on housing price expectations, conducted for the SEB bank, has revealed that a fifth of residents in Lithuania (22 percent) expect housing prices to remain unchanged in the coming 12 months, while one in seven (14 percent) expect to see housing prices in Lithuania fall.

Compared to results of a poll carried out in the previous quarter, the share of those who believe that prices will decrease went up 3 percentage points. In September 2013, 40 percent of respondents thought that prices would grow, that they would stay unchanged, 35 percent, and the share of those who were convinced that prices would drop was 14 percent.

The poll was conducted by the market research and public opinion company Baltijos Tyrimai on 10-17 September 2014. A total of 1, 058 residents of Lithuania aged 15 to 74 took part in the poll.
