According to President Grybauskaitė, Lithuanian scientists are among the world’s elite. Lithuanian researchers are appreciated for their skills, expert knowledge and experience. They are increasingly more often invited to join the most fascinating scientific projects which substantially contribute to world-changing discoveries.
Grybauskaitė believes that Lithuania should better utilise its scientific potential. Especially as the largest and most capable scientific centre CERN is interested in Lithuanian scientists. Meanwhile, their participation in the most important global experiments enhances the country’s international image, thus it is crucial to continue the cooperation.
The president and the director general of CERN discussed preparation for the exhibition the Interactive Large Hadron Collider Tunnel. Lithuania was selected to host the exhibition which is to take place in February 2016. President Grybauskaitė agreed to become the patron of the exhibition following Professor Heuer’s invitation.
