Snowfall reported across Lithuania, with slippery stretches of roads

Trunk roads, regional highways and district roads of higher traffic intensity feature ruts of wet snow in northeastern districts.

District roads of lower traffic intensity are rutty, with stretches of snow and slippery.

Friday temperatures are between -2C and +3C in all districts.

Saturday’s forecast calls for occasional snowfall in much of the country and sleet in western districts close to the sea, with black ice possible in places and rather strong northwesterly winds expected. Nighttime temperatures will range between -1C and -6C (0-2C in the western part of the country) and daytime temperatures will range between -3 and +2C.

Sunday night will see sporadic snowfall, slippery conditions, fog and frost in some areas, with temperatures at between -7 and -12C in most of the country and at -2C in the Curonian Spit. Daytime temperatures will range between -2 and -7C. It will snow.

On Monday, the mercury will drop to as low as -15–17C at night, but will rise to -1–3C and will even go above zero in some places during the day.
