Three Lithuanians cross the Baltic Sea on skis

DELFI / Mindaugas Ažušilis

The route chosen by the Lithuanians passes through the Bay of Bothnia, which is usually frozen, but this year due to relatively warm weather sturdy ice lies only in the northern part of the bay.

The three Lithuanians started their trek on February 15. They hoped that skis would be sufficient for the trip, but they have had to use an inflatable boat to cross ice-free areas.
