The tender for purchase of 100 two-axle buses and 50 three-axle buses by leasing was called on April 28, with applications expected until June 21. Lithuania’s capital city wants to buy buses that would meet ecologic standards. The municipality plans to buy them out within eight years.
Within the coming two years, the Lithuanian capital’s municipality intends to revamp its trolleybus depot by buying 40 new trolleybuses.
The Vilnius depot of public transportation currently includes 352 buses, manufactured 14 years ago on average. Among manufacturers of the buses are Germany’s Mercedes-Benz and Man, Sweden’s Volvo, Spain’s Carrocera Canstrosua, etc.
