Austrian Group Amic Energy Management has completed its takeover of Lukoil petrol stations in Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, according to Ivanas Paleičikas, the head of Lukoil Baltija talking on LRT Radijas.
Paleičikas said the Austrian company would lease the gas stations to Lithuanian company Luktarna, but is still awaiting authorization from the Competition Council.
Executives of the Russian company Lukoil claimed late last year that service stations in the Baltic countries were being sold due to alleged anti-Russian sentiment but analysts pointed to a broader strategic shift as being the core reason behind the disposal of the network by the Lukoil.
