The goal of the agreement is to first create a common Baltic balance region together with a common regulation market, which covers common products, coordinated management and harmonized balance management.
Between Nordic and Baltic system administrators, the plan is to expand further cooperation on regulation reserves. According to the agreement, the Nordic and Baltic harmonized regulation markets will have similar products, harmonized balance sheet management, and uniform procedures to activate regulation offers.
The described cooperation is groundwork for a bigger aim: creating a common Nordic-Baltic balance, i.e., regulating market. The plan is to launch the common regulating market in 2018.
