19.9 percent of people in Lithuania, surveyed by public opinion and market research company Vilmorus, voted for Blinkevičiūtė, the Lietuvos Rytas daily reports on Tuesday.
Liberal MEP Antanas Guoga (12.5 percent) came in second, followed by Order and Justice party leader Rolandas Paksas (10.9 perent), Liberal Petras Auštrevičius (9.5 percent) and Order and Justice party member Valentinas Mazuronis (9.1 percent).
Social Democrat Zigmantas Balčytis was named by 8.5 percent of the surveyed, followed by the Labour Party’s Viktor Uspaskich (7.9 percent), Homeland Union’s Gabrielius Landsbergis (5.7 percent), the Peasant and Greens Union’s Bronis Ropė (3.7 percent), Homeland Union MEP Algirdas Saudargas (1.7 percent) and Valdemar Tomaševski of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania (1.4 percent).
9.4 percent could not name an MEP best representing their interests during the survey carried out on 16-23 January.
