Border police detain Finnish citizen and illegal immigrant from Iraq

The State Border Guard Service reported that Finland had most likely been their final destination. Customs and border officials stopped the car Mercedes-Benz car with a Finnish number on the Marijampolė-Suwalki road. The vehicle was just after entering Lithuania from Poland.

The State Border Guard Service officials‘ said a new new illegal migration route had developed running from Iraq through Turkey and Greece, and using the Baltic States and Poland as an entry point into the EU.
