Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis confirmed that in May diplomats from European Union (EU) countries working in Belarus were vaccinated against the coronavirus in Lithuania.
According to him, the decision to help diplomats of the union’s countries in Belarus was made because in this country they do not have the possibility to obtain vaccines registered in the EU
“Diplomats working in Minsk do not have access to vaccines registered in the EU. They are not available in Belarus,” said G. Landsbergis in a comment sent to the BNS.
“We are the closest to Minsk, so it is natural that we were a country that extended a helping hand to the diplomats staying there – their work in this country is not only responsible, but very often dangerous,” he added.
