25 countries are calling for an international treaty to prepare us for a new pandemic. The USA and China are not among them.

The article points out that “it may be a coincidence, but over a year after the outbreak of a disease that officially claimed 2.8 million lives, and indeed a lot more, cooperation in the fight against the virus remains a hostage of great power interests.”

“A few hours after the initiative to establish a global system to contain the new disease was presented in Geneva, the World Health Organization (WHO) published the Wuhan report on the causes of the Covid-19 outbreak at the end of 2019. China waited more than a year before agreeing to the arrival of international experts in Wuhan. But even then, they did not gain access to all the places that could clear the mystery surrounding the birth of the pandemic. It concerns in particular the suspicions shared, among others, by former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that the virus was leaked from a state laboratory in the provincial capital of Hubei, Rzeczpospolita wrote on Wednesday.

In the last two weeks, out of 100,000 inhabitants, the incidence is 328.9.

The percentage of positive diagnostic tests in the last seven days is 7%.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 216,119 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in Lithuania.

Statistically 199,023 people recovered (declared: 155,614.).

Statistical number of active cases – 9,198 (declared: nearly 52,607).

3,574 people have died from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic. Altogether, 7,258 deaths are associated with this infectious disease, both directly and indirectly.

To date, 1,612 reports of vaccine adverse events have been received.

According to the Chancellor of the Ministry of Health, Jurgita Griebenkovienė, most of them concern Biontech-Pfizer vaccines, which at the same time is the most desirable in Lithuania. Over 1.5 thousand reports reported mild side effects.

There have been 11 deaths and 5 cases of thromboembolism, but according to the chancellor, these cases are not related to vaccines.

From the beginning of the vaccination, 336,458 people were vaccinated with the first dose, two – 158,925. So far, 642,365 doses of vaccine have been delivered to Lithuania, 565,765 were delivered to the vaccination centres, 495,383 were used.
