Funding for non-formal education will be provided from the EU funding, according to the minister, and the Ministry of Education hopes to prepare the needed documents so that the funding would be available in April.

That move means that the level of funding for education for children will not be affected by the raising of Lithuanian teacher’s salaries.

“Only the source of financing will change. We have found the opportunity to finance the student‘s basket from the European funds. We are working together with the Ministry of Finance, the government, it has been co-ordinated with the prime minister,” Pitrėnienė told LRT radijas.
