France’s Veolia may exit Lithuanian market

DELFI / Mindaugas Ažušilis

Vilniaus Energija, the energy company running central heating and electricity generation businesses in the Lithuanian capital, said that its owner, Veolia (formerly Dalkia), is to make an announcement about its companies in Lithuania.

BNS has quoted its sources who say that the French company could announce it is leaving the Lithuanian market and lay criticism on the Lithuanian government for failing to protect investors’ interests.

Nerijus Mikalajūnas, spokesman for Vilniaus Energija and Litesko, neither confirmed nor denied that Veolia would announce about its withdrawal from Lithuania.
