Gender pay gap in Lithuania among lowest in EU

In five years, i.e., between 2008 and 2013, the gender pay gap in Lithuania fell by 8.3 percentage points to 13.3 percent.

Smaller gaps were recorded in Slovenia (3.2 percent), Malta (5.1), Poland (6.4), Italy (7.3), Croatia (7.4), Luxembourg (8.9), Romania (9.1), Belgium (9.8) and Portugal (13).

In Estonia, the gap increased to 29.9 percent in 2013 (from 27.6 percent in 2008) and was the widest in the EU-28. In Latvia, the gap widened to 14.4 percent, from 11.8 percent in 2008.

At the EU level, the gender pay gap shrank by 0.9 percent, as compared with 2008, to reach 16.4 percent in 2013.
