Latvian president does not comment if he will attend Victory Day celebration in Moscow

When asked whether the Latvian president plans to attend the ceremony, his press secretary Liga Krapane told LETA that “there is enough time to assess the course of the situation and to eventually make a decision”.

US President Barack Obama was also invited to the ceremony in Moscow, but turned down the invitation. The press service of Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė, who received the invitation to Moscow as well, has informed the media that she will not be attending the event. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has been invited to the event as well.
