Foreign Vice-Minister Darius Skusevičius on Tuesday discussed the situation with Ukraine’s Ambassador in Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivskiy.
The Lithuanian diplomat “expressed concern over resumed intensive military actions in Eastern Ukraine, the possible humanitarian disaster in the city of Avdiivka and called on all parties to cease fire,” the ministry said in a press release.
The vice-minister emphasized that there were no alternatives to the Minsk accords, calling for peaceful solution of the conflict.
Ukraine said seven troops had been killed in the Avdiivka district in the Donetsk region over the past two days, while the Kremlin accused Ukrainian forces for the escalation.
