The report on Teacher Costs, authored by Luisa De Sousa Borges, ranks EU countries in terms of how much teachers in each country earn on average, adjusted to purchasing power parity.
Latvians come last on the list, with teachers making between €4,559 and €4,728 a year. Lithuania is a close second, with Lithuanian teachers earning between €5,944 and €10,954.
Teachers in Luxembourg enjoy the highest pay in Europe, of up to €100,000 a year, while the least-paid teachers can still expect to make five times more than their best-paid colleagues in Lithuania.
